Duties & Responsibilities:
- The psychologist works in the Trauma Services Program, working with Veterans experiencing PTSD symptoms. The psychologist provides a full range of psycho-diagnostic services including assessment and utilization of best practices in implementing psychotherapeutic techniques to provide quality care. The psychologist provides therapeutic interventions including evidence-based individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, and psycho-education classes. The psychologist serves as a member of a large interdisciplinary team and works within the team for the coordination of service delivery. The psychologist participates in regularly scheduled team meetings to ensure efficiency and continuity of service delivery to Veterans served by the program.
Clinical Responsibilities: 100%
The incumbent is responsible for the development and delivery of a full range of mental health services for Veterans with PTSD. Clinical duties include psychodiagnosis and other psychological testing/assessments, individual, group, and family psychotherapy, psycho-education classes, and development of individualized treatment plans. Provides evidence-based therapy for PTSD within the Trauma Services program including but not limited to CPT, PE, WET, NET, EMDR, and STAIR. Consults with medical center staff on a wide variety of patient care issues and coordinates care. Supervises Psychology Post-Doctoral Fellows, Interns and Practicum students. Provides administrative duties that such as making and returning Veterans' phone calls, report writing, attending and participating in meetings, conducting chart reviews, completing forms for Veterans, reviewing and completing consults, and completing required trainings (e.g., TMS).
